Jobs For The Garden This Autumn
Jobs for the garden this autumn...
Autumn is officially here and winter is coming so it’s time to put the garden to bed and get ready for the cold, but there’s a lot to do before then!
Now’s the time to dig your soil, the longer the soil has before you want to plant again next year, the better it will be. Adding in some organic matter will help to improve your soil too! Single digging (dig to the length of the blade) is usually enough to prepare the soil. Need a new spade or digging fork? Have a look at our range here! Maintain Compost Bins
Now is a good time to use organic matter in your soil and empty your compost bin, ready to fill it up with autumn waste like leaves. If you don’t have a compost bin, why not make one out of some old wood or pallets?
This time of year there are so many vegetables to be harvested, from onions and parsnips to winter squashes! But did you know it’s also a great time of year for planting? You can plant garlic, rhubarb and fruit trees now, ready for next year!
