S&J UK are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Development Officer to join their busy Purchasing Team. This is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge and opportunity to drive this area of S&J UK

 

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, and based from the Sheffield Office, the Supply Chain Development Officer will support the Planning Team, with a principle job purpose of ensuring all products meet S&J UK product qualification plans and testing standards.

 

Day-to-day the successful candidate will prepare specifications for products, bringing together the new product details with its packaging and creating specifications from the original quality inspection sheets; will maintain and update current specifications, adding product detail to SAP; will evaluate and report on potential new products and pre-shipping samples as required, and will also be required to maintain an up to date knowledge of competitor products, producing comparisons when required.

 

In addition, the successful candidate will support the Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Team with various duties including release orders; supplier liaison about orders, supplier correspondence and the setup of new products prices and suppliers.

To be considered for this role, applicants will have a good level of academic achievement to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a Quality or Mechanical Engineering related discipline, with experience working in a Quality Engineering role within a fast-paced and often demanding operations environment. A good understanding and knowledge of company purchasing processes is desirable.

 

The successful applicant will have strong practical and problem solving skills, with excellent project, time management and organisational skills and the ability to build strong working relationships and interact successfully with individuals all levels. Excellent computer skills including the full Microsoft Office package is essential, with experience using SAP preferred.

 

Candidates will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, logical and methodical individuals, with a keen eye and passion for quality and safety.

 

In addition, to be considered for this role applicants must be in possession of a full valid UK driving licence.
