S&J UK are looking to recruit an experienced National Account Manager to join their busy UK Sales Team. This is an exciting role offering the successful candidate great levels of variety, challenge and opportunity to drive this area of S&J UK.

Reporting directly to the UK Sales Manager, the National Account Manager will have specific National Accounts, with principle responsibilities including the planning, development and implementation of specific account activity in order to exceed budgeted sales and profitability.

Day-to-day the successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for their assigned accounts, leading all initiatives and dealing promptly with any concerns; adopting a category management approach with both existing and prospective customers. The post-holder will operate as an internal account champion, assuring clear and regular communication to all relevant parties, including key company employees. 

In addition, the successful candidate will pursue opportunities, both with existing accounts but also as prospecting for new business with new customers; alongside developing proposals, negotiating T&C’s and implementing contractual agreements, in order to support the delivery of strong financial results.

To be considered for this role, applicants will have a good level of academic achievement (ideally to BETC / HND level or equivalent), with proven experience managing key accounts within the Home Improvements and Garden industry. Proven sales performance track record and relevant account management experience is essential. 

The successful candidate will be ambitious, target driven and sales orientated; a natural sales professional with excellent commercial awareness, first-class communication / interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work well in a pressured environment is essential. Competent computer skills including the full Microsoft Office package is preferred. 

In addition, to be considered for this role applicants must be in possession of a full valid UK driving licence and comfortable with regular UK travel and periods working away from home (office based, 50% of the time).
